Product Description

Normal serums are lipid extracted to improve clarity, dialyzed against phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing sodium azide, and freeze dried. Normal serum diluted to 5% (v/v) in PBS is strongly recommended as a blocking reagent to reduce background from non-specific, conserved sequence and/or Fc receptor binding. Best results are obtained with diluted normal serum from the same host as the labeled antibody, as a separate incubation step before addition of the primary antibody.

Physical State: Freeze-dried solid
Storage: Store freeze-dried powder at 2-8°C. When ready to use, rehydrate with indicated volume of d. water and centrifuge if not clear. Product is stable for about 6 weeks at 2-8°C as an undiluted liquid. Prepare working dilution fresh each day. For extended storage after rehydration, aliquot and freeze undiluted product at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Expiration date: one year from date of rehydration. However, the expiration date may be extended if the product is stored according to the recommendation and the test results are acceptable for its intended use

Optimized for Immunostaining Needs

Normal Goat Serum is meticulously processed and sterile-filtered to offer superior performance as a blocking agent in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. With over 98% purity and no added preservatives, it significantly reduces non-specific binding, ensuring clearer and more reliable experimental results for research and laboratory professionals.

Safe and Flexible Storage

This serum maintains stability and integrity when stored at -20C or below. By protecting it from repeated freeze-thaw cycles, users can maximize the products shelf life and efficacy. The product is available in a variety of pack sizes, catering to different laboratory requirements and minimizing unnecessary waste.

FAQs of Normal Goat Serum:

Q: How should I store Normal Goat Serum with Filtration to preserve its quality?

A: Normal Goat Serum should be stored at -20C or below, and exposure to repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. Proper storage helps retain its sterility and activity for up to three years.

Q: What applications is this serum suitable for in laboratory research?

A: This serum serves primarily as a blocking agent in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, helping to minimize non-specific binding and background staining during immunostaining procedures.

Q: When is it recommended to use Normal Goat Serum during experiment workflows?

A: It is best to use the serum during the blocking step, prior to the addition of primary or secondary antibodies. This step effectively reduces unwanted background by masking non-specific binding sites.

Q: Where can I obtain customized pack sizes of this goat serum?

A: Customized and standard pack sizes, such as 10 mL, 100 mL, and 500 mL, are available through authorized distributors, importers, suppliers, and traders across the United States.

Q: What is the process for handling and thawing this product safely?

A: Thaw Normal Goat Serum slowly at 28C (refrigerator temperature) before use. After thawing, mix gently to ensure homogeneity, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to maintain efficacy.

Q: What are the benefits of choosing this sterile-filtered, low-endotoxin goat serum for your research?

A: This product assures high sterility, low endotoxin levels, and freedom from preservatives, which is especially important for sensitive assays, leading to more accurate and reproducible scientific results.
