Product Description
PRINCIPAL OF THE ASSAY-
The Cayman Chemical Antioxidant Assay Kit measures the total antioxidant capacity of plasma, serum, urine, saliva, or cell lysates. The assay relies on the ability of antioxidants in the sample to inhibit the oxidation of ABTS (2,2'-azino-di-[3-ethylbenzthiazoline sulphonate]) to ABTS + by metmyoglobin. The capacity of the antioxidants in the sample to prevent ABTS oxidation is compared with that of Trolox, a water-soluble tocopherol analogue, and is quantified as molar Trolox equivalents. Each kit contains assay buffer (10X), chromogen, metmyoglobin, trolox, hydrogen peroxide, a 96 well plate, plate cover, and complete instructions.

FAQs of Total anti oxidant assay kit (TAC Kit) 100 test:
Q: How is the Total Antioxidant Assay Kit (TAC Kit) used to measure antioxidant capacity?
A: This kit assesses the total antioxidant activity in samples by quantifying the inhibition of ABTS oxidation. Simply add your plasma, serum, urine, saliva, or cell lysate samples to the reagent mixtures as per the protocol, and read the absorbance changes to determine antioxidant levels.
Q: What types of samples are compatible with the TAC Kit?
A: The TAC Kit is suitable for measuring antioxidants in plasma, serum, urine, saliva, and cell lysate samples, allowing researchers flexible application across various biological matrices.
Q: When is it recommended to utilize the TAC Kit in research?
A: The kit is most effective for studies investigating oxidative stress, antioxidant capacity, and redox balance in biomedical, clinical, or biochemistry research. Its reliability makes it suitable for both routine and specialized analyses.
Q: Where can laboratories source the TAC Kit?
A: This product is available through authorized distributors, suppliers, importers, and traders within the United States, ensuring regulated access and support for laboratory use.
Q: What benefits does the TAC Kit offer compared to standard methods?
A: The kit delivers rapid, precise measurements with a simple assay protocol, reducing sample prep time and minimizing technical complexity. Its high purity reagents contribute to consistent and reproducible results.
Q: How does the shelf life impact kit usage and storage?
A: With a shelf life of 12 months, the kit remains stable and effective for extended storage, enabling labs to plan experiments without concern for reagent degradation.
Q: What is the process for performing the antioxidant assay with this kit?
A: Users prepare the liquid reagents and mix them with sample aliquots, incubate according to instructions, and measure absorbance changes using a spectrophotometer. Quantification is then achieved by comparing results to provided standards.
